how does hypnosis feel?

Most people find hypnosis to feel remarkably relaxing, calming and even restful like they’ve woken up from a great nap. There are also a number of physical sensations that can be felt during hypnosis including: deeper and slower breathing, feelings of warmth or tingling, feeling of lightness or heaviness, the increased ability to visualize, some also feel an altered sense of time. No two people will experience hypnosis in the same way and there is no “wrong” way to feel.

What issues can be helped by hypnosis?

Really, anything! Personal development, pain management, behavior change including: smoking cessation, weight loss, anxiety, fear and phobias. Hypnosis is also highly effective at removing barriers to goal setting and optimal performance. I have personally helped clients with anger management, dating confidence, business development, sport performance, stage fright, obsessive compulsive behaviors, changing attitudes about sugar and alcohol, mom guilt, sleep disturbances and many more.

can I be hypnotized? How can I tell if i was hypnotized?

Yes, you can be hypnotized. The degree to which you are able to be hypnotized and the effects that you feel are unique to you. Even if you continue to think thoughts while under hypnosis, you were hypnotized. You will know you were hypnotized by the improvement in your desired outcome.

What is neuroplasticity?

Neuroplasticity is the brain’s ability to adapt, change and rewire itself. Hypnosis is powerful because we can optimize and integrate these changes to our benefit. Our subconscious beliefs are deeply programmed in our brains and through hypnosis we are able to change and rewire old, outdated beliefs and replace them with new and desired beliefs. You can be assured that the change is lasting because of our brain’s ability to adapt!

What can I expect during a session?

After a brief intake where we discuss your goals and identify the obstacles preventing you from reaching your goals, I will teach you self-hypnosis. I will then guide you to a deep relaxation of both mind and body and from this state we will access the subconscious mind to help you realize your goals. You won’t stay in hypnosis forever (although you might want to!) I’ll then help you out of the hypnotic state and you’ll be ready to execute your new, desired behaviors.

The subconscious mind is the target of hypnosis. It is where our beliefs, perceptions and habits live. Think about it as the operating system of your brain.
